(Wyalusing, PA) Alex Shaffer and Brock Moore won Track Championships at Wyalusing Valley Motorsports Park for the 2010 racing season.
Alex Shaffer scored a total of 11 feature wins and had a close point battle with Keith Lamphere for most of the summer but at the end, he edged him by 88 points to win the championship in the Sportskids division.
On September 25th, Alex Shaffer scored his first win in the Junior Slingshot division and had an awesome string of top 4 finishes to close out the season with a 4th place finish in points for his first season in the division.
Brock Moore had a good first part of 2010, winning 3 feature events including the Fathers Day 50 for the Sportsman division. After going without a win through the months of July and August, Moore had a good string of top 5 finishes and returned to Victory Lane on September 11th, which led to 2 more wins in October bring his total to 6 for the season. Moore battled with Kyle Traver for the championship and defeated him by 133 points.
Jacob Hendershot took to the wheel of the #21 Senior Slingshot for the remainder of the season. Hendershot visited Oakland Valley Speedway and set a new track record with a lap of 14.807 seconds. Hendershot led most of the 50-lap feature event but settled for 2nd at the end. The Regular Show that evening led to a 4th place finish for the 12 year old.
Hendershot will represent Shaffer Racing at NovemberFest scheduled for November 5th, November 6th and November 7th at Oakland Valley Speedway in Cuddebackville, NY. Good Luck!!!
Alex Shaffer and Brock Moore were honored as champions at the Wyalusing Valley Motorsports Park Award Banquet and Dinner on Saturday, December 4th at the Wysox Fire Hall in Wysox, PA.
It has definitly been a season to remember for car owners, Janice and Ron Shaffer earning 2 Championships, visiting victory lane over 17 times and having their car hold the track record at Oakland Valley Speedway. The Shaffer's have decided to retire the #21 kart and concentrate on Alex Shaffer behind the wheel of the #21S Jr. Slingshot and would like to welcome Dalton Maynard on board in the #21 All Stars Slingshot for the 2011 Season. Our goal will be for Championships in each of their divisions for the 2011 season. They will also both be riunning the Tobias Slingshot Tour for 2011.
